Kalimera & welcome to my website! My name is Vassilios Theocharis and I am a passionate linguist with a Bachelor's degree in Language, Culture & Translation.
Foreign languages have been an essential part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up bilingual in German and Greek and attended Greek school in the afternoons for nine years, parallel to primary school and later the Max-Planck-Gymnasium in Schorndorf. My enthusiasm for foreign languages was awakened and encouraged during my school years by great and motivated teachers. I had the privilege of taking part in five student exchanges and also significantly deepened my knowledge of French with a work & travel stay in Paris after my Abitur.
Through my successful translation studies at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, specialising in law, and my two Erasmus semesters at the University of Burgundy in Dijon, I have acquired extensive knowledge of German, English, French and Greek. In addition, during my work in Andalusia, I was able to refresh and expand my partly rusty knowledge of Spanish. At the Porsche Museum in Zuffenhausen, I took the opportunity to introduce visitors from all over the world to the fascinating history behind the brand. My last stop was Greece, where I did my military service in 2023 and then advised customers over the phone before selling language trips for EF in Stuttgart.
During my numerous stays abroad, I was able to gain valuable experience, further develop my intercultural skills and actively refine my knowledge of foreign languages. Because, as my French teacher used to say:
"Plus tu connais de langues, plus tu es humain.".
